Mission

To present the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Christ-centered principles of living to children, young people, and adults while providing a meaningful camp experience in a beautiful setting, reflective of God's beauty and goodness to us.

History

LWBC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that began in 1973 as a means of providing an affordable week of camping, fun, fellowship, and Christian growth for young believers. It was a one-week effort. Through the years, as children were encouraged to reach out to their friends and neighbors, it has grown into a combined effort of evangelism, Christian growth, and character development. As the Lord has provided funds, workers, and facilities, we have expanded to five weeks of camp during which we minister to over 4oo campers and 100 adults. The workers are volunteers who are trained and encouraged in the use of their spiritual gifts and talents for the building up of the body of Christ.

Fundraising Policy

LWBC believes in living by faith.  Individuals and others may contribute to the ministry as the Lord leads them.   At the present time, funds contributed are applied directly to the operating costs of our summer children's camps (including follow-up mailings and minimal administrative costs).  We have no salaried employees--all workers are volunteers.  Any additional funds received have been applied to development costs for our new camp to be built on Deer Lake near Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

Our guiding scriptures in the area of fundraising are: Philippians 4:6 - "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." Philippians 4:19 - "And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

Our Prayer for You

Ephesians 3:14-21 "For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.   Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and over. Amen.”

“We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 1:3
